Requirements

WHY DO I NEED PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID TRAINING?

Paediatric First Aid Training is one of the essential requirements for nannies and au pairs in the UK. Most UK families would hire nannies or au pairs who are Paediatric First Aid Certified only.

It is a 1 day (6 hours) course, and it normally cost £60 - £90.

If you are Paediatric First Aid certified, you will have a better chance to be hired and can negotiate for higher salary. Most Paediatric First Aid certified nannies can find a job within 2 weeks after sending their CVs to The Mandarin Nanny.

Others who are not certified find it harder to get interview opportunities, and employers intend to offer non-certified nannies up to £8 per hour.

WHAT TYPE OF NANNY JOB SHOULD I TAKE? HOW MUCH WILL I EARN?

Full-Time Nanny:

You can work full-time job if you are holding:

  • Tier 5 Visa

  • Family Visa (i.e. Spouse visa, EEA Family visa, dependent visa... etc.)

  • UK Residency

  • British Passport

  • EU Passport

A full-time nanny can earn a very lucrative income. you will normally work 10 - 12 hours a day, and can earn approximately £600 net (tax & NI are paid by your employer) per week, and that is equal to £45,000 gross per year. Some employers are even willing to pay higher salary for a highly experienced nanny.

Part-Time Nanny:

You can work part-time job if you are holding:

  • Student Visa

  • Tier 2 Visa

A part time nanny normally earns £12 - £13 per hour depending on your qualifications and experiences, which is equal to £18,000 gross per year (tax & NI are paid by your employer). Again, some employers are even willing to pay higher salary for a highly experienced nanny.
